Website maintenance.

Regular maintenance helps your website rank well in search engines.

Maintaining your website.

As with a car, a house, a business, websites also require regular maintenance.

Websites which are not maintained regularly can become a hacker’s joy and a security risk as well a spam magnet.

Why should your website need maintenance?

Your website will be based on WordPress, a software platform used in over 455 million websites worldwide. As well as WordPress, your website will also require additional software (called ‘plugins’) which add additional functionality, be it for visual purposes, e-commerce, contact forms, etc.

WordPress, as well as the additional software providers, issue regular updates which helps to close any potential security loopholes, as well as adding more/better functionality and speed efficiency.

When search engines such a Google and Bing ‘crawl’ your website (which is every few weeks) it also looks at software versions being used and compares this to the current available version. If the website software is seen as being out-of-date, this has a negative impact on your search engine ranking. In extreme cases, the website may become delisted from the search engines.

Whilst maintenance is optional, it is strongly recommended.

Maintenance plans.

Just some of the benefits of using a maintenance plan:

24-7-365 security
All plans include round-the-clock website security monitoring in order to reduce the risk of it being targeted by hackers. Your website will additionally be scanned daily for any potential hack leading to malware, to ensure it is not blacklisted by search engines.

Reduce spam
Generally, most websites have a contact form of some sort. When spam-bots find these forms, the website gets placed onto an automated spam list. There isn’t just one spam bot out there. Taking even a basic maintenance plan will greatly reduce your spam messages, and greatly reduce the time you take reading them and binning them.

Off-site backups
In addition to daily backups to our own on-site server, we also offer regular off-site backups of your website, where the backup data is stored securely at an off-site facility. If anything were to happen to the site in terms of hacking, we can quickly restore it and bolster up any required additional security measures.

Premium software
Your website will require at least one premium software plugin in order to create it. This comes with an annual subscription cost. All our plans cover the cost of any premium software used.

Maintenance plans
All plans offered below are based on a monthly subscription, even though some plans offer weekly/daily maintenance. If you are unsure of any plan details listed below, please contact us and we’ll be more than happy to explain any aspects.
